2006-07: Played in 28 games … one of team’s top defensive forwards … recorded two points (1-1-2) … scored third goal in 3-0 win over UMass (12/5) … dished out an assist at Boston University (1/20) … took 32 shots … battled a sports hernia all season … missed final four games of season after suffering broken jaw during practice.

2005-06: Appeared in 29 of 34 games … recorded four points (1-3-4), all in the final nine games of the season, when he played alongside leading scorer Rob Ricci … Merrimack Hockey Unsung Hero Award winner … Warriors were 1-1-2 in games in which he recorded a point … tallied first career goal in final game of the season, a 4-3 overtime win at Providence (3/4) … picked up his first career point on an assists in a tie with Northeastern (2/3) … recorded an assists in a tie with then-No. 15 New Hampshire (2/11) and another at UMass Lowell (2/18) … plus or even in 20 of 29 games, including a +4 in the Warriors final 13 contests … took 32 shots.

High School/Last Team: EJHL All-Star … appeared in 49 games for the Jr. Huskies, totaling 31 points on seven goals and 24 assists … earned Most Improved Player award at Cushing Academy … honor roll student.

Personal: Born March 4, 1986 … son of Michael and Mary Rego … has two siblings – Heather and Jessica … father played in 136 games for Merrimack from 1978-81, helping the Warriors to the 1978 Division II Championship … father also holds Merrimack records for game-winning goals in a season (nine), career (18), single-season hat tricks (five) and ranks sixth on all-time scoring list with 202 points (94-108-202).
